2007 Study on Potentials for Innovation in Architecture

Study for the departure wirtschaft, kunst und kultur GmbH about Potentials for Innovation in Architecture and preparation of a White Paper on that topic, contractor of uma GmbH.
The White Paper dealt with fundamental ideas related to a call in the field of architecture which departure announced, and was based on research about innovation in contemporary architecture. It tried to describe today’s conditions for innovation in the field of architecture to inspire and encourage architects to deliver proposals. The description started with the notion of innovation in general, added specifics of project-based companies and targeted further on specifics of the field of architecture. Several building types and the potentials for innovation related to them were shown (living, public space, city planning and infrastructure, buildings for learning, leisure and tourism). In addition, several transversal topics were described (sustainability, participation, digital planning, virtual architecture). And finally innovative approaches were proposed which are not directly related to design (communication and consulting, connecting of design, building and use; technical innovation).
